As we all know, not every field is a perfect rectangle. On many farms, we find triangular and trapezoidal plots with rounded corners and obstacles in the field. In an ideal field with parallel sides, passes can be performed almost automatically. The operator determines the direction of travel, and each pass follows the same line. The problem arises when the plot boundaries become irregular. Passes can be of varying lengths, corners require early maneuvering, and obstacles require avoiding them and rejoining the correct line. This can easily lead to overlapping passes, leaving unused sections of the field, increasing operator fatigue, and difficulty maintaining a consistent distance between passes.
