The automatic guidance system is improving day by day, and in this way, it can even be used on older tractors. Technologies like RTK and PPP are becoming another feature that makes fieldwork easier. You notice the biggest difference when the accuracy leads to fewer overlaps and fuel savings.
RTK in practice

Imagine working for several hours on a huge field under the bright sun. When driving manually, it's impossible to maintain the same spacing between passes. Sometimes you'll go too close, sometimes too far. RTK was created to address exactly these problems, helping to significantly reduce this issue. The tractor moves along a designated line, so the operator doesn't have to monitor every pass.

Not just for large farms
You might hear opinions that navigation systems are only meant for large farms, which is, of course, not true. The benefits of an automatic guidance system don't necessarily pay off in just one season. By using the system for a few years, we can save a lot of money and increase crop yields.
Where does PPP fit into all of this?
How is RTK different from PPP?
RTK applies correction adjustments that make it possible to achieve very high accuracy in drives. RTK corrections can be transmitted via the Internet using the NTRIP network.
PPP works a bit differently. It uses correction data transmitted through a satellite signal. Its accuracy isn’t as high as RTK, but it serves as a backup when working in areas with limited coverage.
Thanks to the combination of these two technologies, the farmer doesn’t have to worry about the navigation losing signal and stopping the tractor.
